Assistant Dean Spann leads the Office of Admission at UIC John Marshall Law School, where she develops and implements recruiting strategies to attract talented students to the law school. She leads the admissions committee and supervises a team of admissions professionals in the delivery of services and counseling to prospective, admitted, and matriculated students.
Before her work in admissions, Assistant Spann led the Career Services Office as the Assistant Dean for Career Services, where she supervised a team of career professionals in the provision of career-related services to the student body at John Marshall. She managed all operations of the office, including, but not limited to, student advising, programming, diversity initiatives, communications, judicial clerkships, employer outreach, public interest, graduate reporting, and alumni services. She also developed professional development workshops for first-year students and worked on career development strategy with the Associate Dean of Professionalism & Career Strategy.
Before joining UIC John Marshall Law School in 2010, Assistant Dean Spann practiced law at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP (now Sidley Austin LLP), Goldberg Kohn Bell Black Rosenbloom & Moritz, Ltd (now Goldberg Kohn), and Chico & Nunes P.C.
Assistant Dean Spann earned her JD from New York University School of Law and her BA in psychology from Emory University.
