Directly Impact Your Community

A UIC John Marshall hallmark is experiential education—in fact, practical training is guaranteed for all of our students. Sharpen your skills in one of our Community Legal Clinics or 100 externships. Working under the mentorship of a judge or attorney, you will assist real people with real legal problems—veterans, victims of domestic violence, citizens facing housing discrimination, and other people who need your help.

Restorative Justice Project

The Restorative Justice Project (RJP) trains law students in restorative justice techniques, so that they become better lawyers. In the RJP, students observe court proceedings and visit jails or prisons to compare retributive to restorative justice approaches in actual practice. Students then put restorative justice principles to work with high school and elementary students in a neighborhood school environment.
