How much is tuition for JD students?
After students choose the appropriate enrollment option, JD and graduate tuition costs are calculated based on the number of enrolled credit hours.

Does the school have student organizations in my areas of interest?
UIC John Marshall is home to numerous student organizations, each with their own legal concentration; however, since the first year of law school is extremely demanding, first-year students are advised to minimize their participation in these organizations until they feel comfortable with their primary workload. Additionally, the Student Bar Association hosts a “Student Organization Week” each semester to showcase the variety of student organizations offered.

Does the school have competitions in my areas of interest?
The school engages in a number of inter- and intrascholastic competitions, including various moot court and trial advocacy competitions.

Is UIC John Marshall Law School accredited?
UIC John Marshall Law School is approved by the American Bar Association Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar and fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Do you offer help in finding student and alumni employment?
The Career Services Office helps students and alumni meet employers, find full-time and part-time internships and employment, and develop job search tools.

Can students get help with writing outside of class?
UIC John Marshall Law School provides an in-house Writing Resource Center where students can refine their legal writing skills. The Center’s staff includes a faculty Director, full-time Associate and Assistant Directors, and three part-time Writing Advisors. They are former or current legal practitioners, experts in teaching writing, and a valuable resource for students. Writing advisors assist faculty members with their writing instruction and help students develop their writing skills by conducting group workshops and individual conferences.

Where can I get more information on the Law School's policies and resources?
All school policies are conveniently located at the policy section. Additionally, the Student Resource Guide gathers school and city resources that can assist students throughout their time at the Law School.

Are there special requirements for foreign students?
Foreign students need to submit the Foreign Application Supplement form along with their completed application. If their transcripts are not in English, they must be evaluated by an agency such as WES. Even if the transcripts are in English, it is recommended that students have their transcripts and credentials evaluated, so that the equivalent courses can be noted. Foreign students who plan to attend UIC John Marshall Law School with a student visa also need to submit proof of enough funds or support for one year of attendance at the school.

Do you have an evening division?
Yes. The evening division offers a part-time JD program requiring an estimated 4 years and 2 summer sessions for completion. Evening division classes for first-year students are held Monday-Thursday between 6–9 p.m. Some classes are offered on Saturday mornings for those who find this schedule more convenient.
